DR SUE COMERFORD

Independent Health Practitioner

Dr Sue Comerford graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2001 and worked in Melbourne for a number of years before making a sea change in 2012.  Sue enjoys all aspects of family medicine and has particular interests in women’s health and preventive care.   She is passionate about the role of nutrition and exercise in psychological and physical well-being.  She performs skin checks and minor surgical procedures. 

In her spare time Sue loves jogging, beach walks and spending time with her family.

DR SINEAD DE GOOYER

MBBS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG

Independent Health Practitioner

Sinead graduated from Monash University in 1999 and has been working in rural communities since completing GP training. She enjoys the breadth of her general practice work and has a particular interest in adolescent, womens’ and mental health issues.

Outside her clinic work Sinead is current board member of the Melbourne based charity the Piano Project. She was a director and past Chair of Gippsland PHN and has held board positions in both the health and dairy sectors. Sinead lives locally with her family and an assortment of pets.

DR ROZ GILES

MBBS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG

Independent Health Practitioner

Roz completed her medical studies at the University of Melbourne  in 1991 and after completing her GP training moved to South Gippsland.  She has been working in both Leongatha and Inverloch since 1995. Roz takes a holistic approach to health care with a particular interest in preventive health. Other special interest areas are older people, chronic disease management and palliative care.

Roz is married with three children and outside of work enjoys walking, bike riding and gardening.

DR KATE DAVEY

MBBS, FRACGP

Independent Health Practitioner

Kate is a Fellow of RACGP and Melbourne University Medical School Academy of Clinical Teaching. She is a Senior Lecturer in General Practice with Melbourne University Rural Clinical School and has particular interests in older person’s and women’s health as well as medical education. Kate has spent her career working in rural Victoria and in 2019 was awarded the prestigious RACGP Rural GP of the Year award.

Kate will be commencing at Inverloch Healthcare in mid March working every second Thursday and Fridays.

DR SARAH SMITH

BAppSc (Hons), MBBS, FRACGP

Independent Health Practitioner

Sarah grew up in East Gippsland and after some years as a research scientist she decided to swap the microscope for people and retrained in medicine, completing her MBBS in 2010 from the University of Melbourne. She undertook her GP training in the Northern Territory and has spent the last two years working as a solo GP in a remote community in Central Australia, returning to Gippsland in 2018 to have her second child. 

Sarah has particular interest in paediatrics and chronic disease but enjoys all aspects of rural general practice. She lives in Inverloch with her husband, two young boys and a disobedient labrador named Louis.

DR HANA THOMPSON

MBBS, FRACGP , FRChPM

Independent Health Practitioner

Hana studied at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2011. She then undertook further hospital-based training in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne before completing GP training and then further specialist training in Palliative Medicine, before returning to practice as a GP. She moved to Inverloch in 2019 and enjoys all aspects of General Practice.  She has a particular interest in palliative care and also does medico-legal work. Outside medicine Hana enjoys keeping fit and spending time with friends and family.

Dr MARTIN HODGSON

MBBS, GradDipOccH, DipDHM

Independent Health Practitioner

Martin is a well-informed and experienced doctor with a long and varied career. This started with time in the Royal Australian Navy, where he became an Underwater Medicine Specialist. For twenty years he was involved in problem wound management and hyperbaric medicine. He has maintained an interest in sports medicine, has mental health training, awareness of men’s health issues and good rapport with children. He has a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and can perform diving medicals and employment medicals.

ROBYN BUTLER- CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER

Robyn Butler is a highly skilled practice nurse who has been supporting and caring for rural communities for over thirty years. Robyn has been a Practice Nurse and Clinical Nurse Manager for over 20 years in the South Gippsland region. Robyn is passionate about her community, equity of access to care and ensuring that as health providers we never forget what a privilege it is to be part of someone’s health journey.
